1. Shadow of the Colossus (2005)

A haunting, emotional adventure, Shadow of the Colossus is a masterpiece of minimalism. You, your horse Agro, and 16 towering Colossi—that’s all the game gives you, but it creates one of the most powerful gaming experiences ever. The scale of the battles, the quiet loneliness of the world, and the tragic story still hit hard today. Even though the 2018 remake is great it still couldn’t take away the magic of the original.
2. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (2004)

“Kept you waiting, huh?”, The best Metal Gear Solid game for many fans, Snake Eater perfected the stealth-action formula. Whether you’re hiding in the jungle, using camouflage, or eating snakes to survive, the game is still fun, challenging, and full of depth.
The boss fights are legendary—from the sniper duel with The End to the heartbreaking final fight with The Boss. And who could forget the unforgettable theme song?
3. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (2003)

This game’s parkour movement, smooth combat, and time-rewind mechanic still hold up beautifully. Running along walls, flipping over enemies, and rewinding time after a bad jump still feels as fluid and fun today as it did in 2003.
Even after all these years, no other game has truly replaced it.
4. God of War II (2007)

Kratos was at his angriest and deadliest in God of War II, and the game still delivers some of the best hack-and-slash combat ever. The boss fights, the brutal finishers, and the epic set pieces (like fighting the Colossus of Rhodes!) make it one of the greatest action games ever made.
5. Bioshock (2007)

“Would you kindly?”, An underwater city filled with mystery, madness, and moral choices, BioShock still feels fresh and unique today. The Plasmids (superpowers!), the Big Daddies, and the famous plot twist make this game an unforgettable experience.
6. Half-Life 2 (2004)

This game revolutionized FPS games with its physics engine, Gravity Gun, and smart AI. Even today, throwing objects around with the Gravity Gun or battling Striders in City 17 still feels incredible. Many modern shooters still haven’t caught up to what Half-Life 2 did 20 years ago.
7. The Sims 3 (2009)

Among all Sims games, The Sims 3 is still the best. Its open-world freedom, deep customization, and hilarious moments make it more fun than The Sims 4.
Want to trap your Sim in a pool with no ladder or build your dream house? This game still delivers endless fun.
8. Red Dead Redemption (2010)

John Marston’s tragic, emotional journey in the Wild West still stands as one of the greatest video game stories ever. Whether you’re hunting bounties, playing poker, or riding into the sunset, the game still feels alive and immersive.
Even after Red Dead Redemption 2, the original is still a masterpiece.
9. Minecraft (2009)

No game has aged better than Minecraft. Change My Mind!
10. The Last of Us (2013)

A heartbreaking story, incredible characters, and tense survival gameplay make The Last of Us a timeless experience. Even today, Joel and Ellie’s journey feels just as emotional as it did in 2013.
The remastered versions only make it look better, but the original still holds up perfectly.
11. Dark Souls (2011)

This game changed gaming forever. Its brutal but fair difficulty, deep lore, and rewarding combat make it just as satisfying today as it was in 2011.
Even after Elden Ring, Dark Souls still stands strong as one of the greatest games of all time.
12. Rayman Origins (2011)

A gorgeous hand-drawn platformer with perfect controls and creative level design. play alone or with friends, it’s still a joy to play today.
It’s proof that a game doesn’t need realistic graphics to be timeless.
13. Portal 1,2 (2007,2011)

Both Portal games are brilliant puzzle-platformers with hilarious writing and perfect game design. Solving puzzles with the Portal Gun still feels satisfying, and Portal 2’s co-op mode makes it even better.
If you haven’t played them yet, “Now you’re thinking with portals!”
14. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (2011)

This game never dies. With a huge world, deep RPG mechanics, and endless mods, Skyrim still feels fresh every time you play it. whiterun will always feel like home 🙂
15. Sleeping Dogs (2011)

If you missed Sleeping Dogs when it first launched, you’re missing out on one of the best open-world action games ever made. While many compare it to GTA, this game brings something fresh: martial arts combat, an engaging undercover cop story, and a beautifully crafted Hong Kong setting, and my guilty pleasure is that I enjoyed it wayy more than any GTA game I played, especially GTA 5.
Originally developed as True Crime: Hong Kong, Sleeping Dogs almost didn’t happen after its publisher canceled it. Thankfully, Square Enix picked it up, and what we got was an underrated gem that deserves more recognition.
